If you are a youth at Seton Parish, YOU are a member of Seton Parish Youth (SPY).

SPY is more than just Sunday evenings. We are about relationships, living our faith, and embracing our Catholic Identity and it's an ADVENTURE!

The Mission of Seton Parish Youth (SPY) is to empower young people to ALWAYS continue faith
formation and to respond to the pastoral needs and concerns of the youth and to foster their
participation in the community and mission of the Church.

Registration

Registration for the 2021 - 2022 school year is now open and can be paid online.

Discipleship Retreat

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells His disciples to “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

We are all called to Discipleship, but it can be a risk and a challenge. The Discipleship Retreat (formerly known as Leadership Team Retreat) is a weekend getaway of fun and faith, building positive relationships that will empower participants to lean into who God has created them to be. We will have high adventure ropes and activities that will give us courage to overcome risks and challenges both on the ropes course and off.

Join us for the retreat and say yes to God’s invitation.

Confirmation

About the Sacrament

Confirmation confirms, strengthens, and perfects baptismal grace. The laying on of hands is recognized as the origin of the sacrament and as a continuation of the grace imparted at Pentecost. Confirmation imprints an indelible character on the Christian's soul.

Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation," whose unity must be safeguarded. Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament that gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

Eligibility

At Seton Parish, Confirmation is a two year program. In grade 9, the first year students will attend the Alpha for Youth program. In grade 10, the focus will be on specific Sacramental preparation.

Confirmation is offered to grade 10 students providing the following requirements are met:

  • Candidate completed Alpha for Youth (9th grade)

  • Candidates must attend and successfully complete SPY Religious Education classes in grades 7-10

  • Candidates must complete readiness assessment
